Castletownbere Gaa Annual Poc Fada

Castletownbere Gaa Annual Poc Fada was held yesterday in Castletownbere. A great crowd attended and lots of fun and banter was had, a great family day out.

The presentations and food was held in O Donoghue's Bar following the event.

With two teams tied for first place one member from each team were asked to take one shot of the ball to decide the winner. There was very little between them but the following were deemed to be the winners.

1st place Fr Sean O Shea memorial Cup Daniel James and Liam O Donovan

2nd place Lee Kelly, Fintan Fenner, Daniel Hanley

3rd place Sean Regan, Fachtna McCarthy and Daniel Healy

Shot of the Day for the Bobby Lotty memorial plaque was Declan Dunne

Player of the day Brian Murphy Trophy was Odhran Minihane

Sinead Murphy Whelan was presented with a voucher to thank her for her many years of service as Child protection officer

Another presentation was to Mick O Shea for his work and dedication in keeping the pitch and grounds in pristine condition for so many years. Mick is now retiring from the role and the committee would like to thank him for all his voluntary work.

Well done to all those who organised, helped and stewarded the event you all did a fantastic job.
