Recently the sacred ornaments were mounted onto the roof of the first purpose built Tibetan Temple at Dzogchen Beara, located 7km outside of Castletownbere with breathtaking views out to sea.
A lovely ceremony was held outside the gates of the Temple. Following the ceremony and before the ornaments were mounted Taghd O Sullivan Chairman of the Allihies Copper Mines inserted a piece of Copper taken from the Copper Mines in Allihies and inserted it into one of the ornaments.
The statues were then carefully raised onto the roof over the course of the day. This took place under the watchful eye of Leon Rossiter project manager and builder Brian Murphy of Beara Building Services.
It was a fantastic day with the sun blaring down on the copper roof and people were able to enjoy watching the ornaments being raised onto the roof
