A special event for the farmers of Beara took place recently. During a visit to West Cork, the President of the Irish Farmers Association, Tim Cullinan, came to meet the farming community of the Beara peninsula. The open air meeting took place in ideal weather conditions in a field on the farm of Pat O'Neill at Dromlave, Adrigole. In attendance were many officers of West Cork IFA, both past and present. In his address, the President covered a wide range of issues which are of concern to farmers at the present time. He went on to answer many questions from the large gathering. Afterwards, everyone had the opportunity to enjoy a wide array of refreshments which were laid on outside the farmhouse. This social gathering continued late into the evening. Thanks were extended to Pat and his sister Margaret and family for the effort involved in hosting the entire event.
